Addington Fund's George Stephens Charity

The charity gives grants to people who work, or have worked on a farm whose total weekly income is less than the average current agricultural minimum wage.

The widows, widowers, children or dependants of farm workers who have passed away can also apply for a grant.

The charity gives grants of up to £350 towards items such as:

  • Washing machines
  • Telephones
  • Lighting
  • Furnishings for the home
  • Showers
  • Beds

Who is eligible?

People who work on, or have worked on a farm, live in England and need financial assistance. 

To be able to apply, your total weekly income is less than the average current agricultural minimum wage as stated in the Agricultural Minimum Wage Order.

If you are the widow, widower, child or dependant of a deceased farm worker, you can also apply.

How to apply?

The charity asks that a third party applies on behalf of the person who needs the grant. The third party could be a GP, Social Services, The Royal British Legion or the Farming Community Network. 

The third party can request an application form by contacting the charity.
