Alderman Newton’s Educational Foundation (Bedford branch)

Grants for people aged 13 to 25 who live in the town of Bedford and are attending school, university, or another educational course. Sometimes the Foundation considers applications for children younger than 13.

You usually need to have lived in Bedford for at least three years. 

The Foundation gives grants for financial assistance, outfits, tools, instruments or books to assist in their education. Grants are not normally more than £500.

Who is eligible?

To apply you must:

  • Be aged 13 to 25 years (and you should have normally completed your course by your 25th birthday)
  • Live in Bedford
  • Studying at a school, college, university or other educational institution

What we can't help with

The Foundation can't usually help with travel expenses to and from school.

How to apply?

The Bedford Borough Council administers this fund. Please contact the Council to ask for an application form.
