Educational grants for people under 25 years old whose families are on a low income and live in Dunstable. 

Grants are for educational costs, including equipment and clothing.

Who is eligible?

People under 25 years old whose families are on limited means and live in the Dunstable area.

You will need to show proof or receiving Housing Benefit. However, if you are on a low income and not on Housing Benefit, please contact the clerk to arrange an interview and complete a finance form.

What we can't help with

Grants are for educational purposes only. Please note that the foundation does not give grants for private school fees.

The foundation can only give one grant per year per child. 

Grants are limited to a maximum of four per child.

How to apply?

To apply for a grant please complete the application form which should be signed by both you and the student’s school or college.

You will need to show proof or receiving Housing Benefit. However, if you are on a low income and not on Housing Benefit, please contact the clerk to arrange an interview and complete a finance form.

Applications normally close at the beginning of May and are  sent out in July.

If you have applied for a Chews Foundation Grant you are not eligible for a grant from Ashton Schools Foundation.

Other information

The charity also administers almshouses for older people in the area.
