Association Of Friends Of Home Nursing In Birmingham

One-off grants are available to individuals who are being nursed at home and live in Birmingham City. The organisation can provide:

  • medical equipment that is not provided by statutory services such as the NHS
  • items such as bed linen and pyjamas
  • medical books for patients, such as books about diabetes
  • urgent requests for palliative care
  • Christmas hampers

Who is eligible?

People who who being nursed at home and live in the City of Birmingham. A health care professional should apply on the individual's behalf. 

Please note that the organisation can't give grants for anything that should be provided by statutory services, such as the NHS.


How to apply?

A health care professional who knows the person professionally should apply on an individual's behalf. Applications for equipment or books are considered in February and August. Applications for Christmas hampers are considered in October.

The Association also considers urgent requests for people receiving palliative care.

Please ask a health care worker that knows you professionally to apply on your behalf.
