Awards for Young Musicians

Grants for talented young musicians aged 5 to 17 who are learning a musical instrument and need financial assistance. Singers are not eligible. 

Grants may be given for instrumental tuition costs, to purchase or hire an instrument, for exam entry fees, or for audition fees and travel costs.

Who is eligible?

Young musicians aged 5 to 17 who are learning a musical instrument and need financial assistance. They must also meet on of the following criteria:

  • The young person has been resident in the British Islands for the past three years
  • The young person is a national of a member state of the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland and is the child of a migrant worker;
  • The young person is a refugee or the child of a refugee who has not been ordinarily resident outside the British Islands since being recognised as a refugee or granted leave to enter or remain in the British Islands.

  • Foreign ensemble tours
  • Academic school fees
  • Course fees for higher education
  • Items already paid for

How to apply?

Applications are considered once a year, in March. Sign into the Awards For Young Musicians' website to apply online
