Barchester's Charitable Foundation

This fund is only open to applications from intermediaries or support workers

Barchester's Charitable Foundation gives grants to older people aged 65 and older to help improve their mobility, independence or quality of life.

The Foundation also gives grants to adults with physical or learning disabilities or mental health problems.

Who is eligible?

You may be eligible if you are:

  • Aged 65 and over
  • Aged 18 or over and have a physical or learning disability
  • Aged 18 or over and have mental health problems

What we can't help with

  • Anything that has already been paid for
  • Services that health and social care authorities have a statutory responsibility to provide
  • Home care improvements and property repairs
  • Basic household items such as white goods, furniture and carpeting
  • Daily living costs (e.g. rent, utility bills, clothing) or repayment of debts

How to apply?

We do not accept applications from individuals directly. A professional, who knows the individual in a professional or community-based way, should apply on their behalf. This could be a Barchester staff member, a healthcare professional, a social or Citizens Advice worker or a charity representative.

Applications are considered all year round. Processing an applications can take up to 10 weeks.

Charities who are applying for funding for their charity can also apply on the website.
