Brian Roycroft Fund

Grants are available for care leavers aged 16 to 25 who need financial help to move into settled, safe accommodation; enter further or higher education; find employment, or achieve good health and wellbeing. Applicants must be from or living in Tyne and Wear or Northumberland.

Applications must be made by statutory agencies or voluntary and community organisations, on behalf of a care leaver.

Who is eligible?

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are a care leaver aged 16 to 25
  • Are from, or live in, Tyne and Wear and Northumberland OR you are attending a Further or Higher Education institution in the region are eligible to apply
  • Applications are particularly welcomed on behalf of disabled young people, unaccompanied asylum seeking children and care leavers in the youth justice system. 

We can't help with:

  • Young people that are still in care
  • Any costs that are the statutory responsibility of the Local Authority

How to apply?

Care leavers should not apply directly. Instead, applications must be made by statutory agencies or voluntary and community organisations, on behalf of a care leaver.
