Carers in Bedfordshire

The organisations gives grants to carers to enable them to access a break, activity, service or training that will improve their health or wellbeing. A carer could also use the grant to take part in training to gain qualifications.

For example, you could apply for a grant for day trips and activities, stress relieving therapies, or training to help improve your confidence, skills, knowledge or job prospects.

Who is eligible?

 You can apply if you:

  • are a carer who is registered with Carers in Bedfordshire
  • are you are registered with an NHS Bedfordshire GP surgery
  • have a long term health condition, OR your health or wellbeing is affected by your caring role

If you are not already registered with Carers in Bedfordshire, please contact them to find out how you can become registered. 

What the grant cannot be used for

  • Rent or mortgage payments
  • Council Tax payments
  • Any debts or fees related ot debts
  • University or college accommodation costs

How to apply?

Please download an application form from the Carers in Bedfordshire website

Applications are considered once a month. Applications are not considered in November or December. Please visit the Carers in Bedfordshire website for a list of meeting dates

Ask any support workers or organisations you are in touch with if they can apply on your behalf. They might be an adviser, housing officer, someone from Citizens Advice or another charity.

If you can't find a suitable professional, contact the charity directly to find out if they can help.
