Dance Professionals Fund

One-off and recurrent grants are available for people formerly involved in classic and/or contemporary dance and their dependents, suffering hardship, towards financial assistance.

Eligible categories:

  • Dancers
  • Dance Teachers 
  • Choreographers

Grants may be given for essential items, living expenses, medical costs, disability aids, and home repairs for home owners.

Who is eligible?

All applicants must have worked for a minimum or five years in one of the following:

  • a UK ballet or contemporary dance company
  • as an independent dance artist and have taken recognised training course/s
  • as a professional teacher, choreographer or choreologist

It doesn't matter if you are still dancing, or if you danced a long time ago. You are welcome to apply to us if you are now living overseas, so long as you have worked as a dance professional for five years in the UK. 

You must be receiving, or have applied for, state benefits.

  • debts on credit cards
  • loans
  • tuition fees

You will also be asked to provide a C.V detailing your professional dance career, and your most recent bank statement. One referee will be requested from each applicant.

Applications are considered in March, June, September and December. Decisions are taken on the day of the meeting and applicants informed as soon as possible.

If your situation is urgent, you can contact the Fund at any time to discuss your situation and see if you are eligible for a crisis grant.
