Dorset Community Foundation Education Fund

The Dorset Community Foundation Bursary Scheme supports young people aged 16 to 25 who live in Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole. The Foundation supports students:

  • on vocational courses and traineeships
  • studying STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) courses
  • who have exceptional sporting talent

Who is eligible?

Young people aged 16 to 25 who live in Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole. There is a preference for applicants who:

  • are care leavers or cared for young people
  • have caring responsibilities for other members of their family
  • live on a family income of less than £25,000
  • have disabilities or special educational needs

Applicants must:

  • Provide evidence of financial need
  • Be supported/approved by an educational or training course provider
  • have lived in Dorset for a minimum of 5 years

Students will be expected to provide a short case study detailing their progress and achievements regularly throughout their course

The study/training must start within two months of grant offer.
