Edinburgh and Lothian Trust Fund

Small financial grants for individuals in need who live in the City of Edinburgh and the Lothians. There is a preference for children, young people and families and priority will be given to applications where there is serious illness of the individual or in the family, The average award is under £100 and grants are not normally more than £200.

Who is eligible?

Individuals in need who live in the city of Edinburgh and the Lothians. Priority is given where there is a serious illness of the individual or in the family.

Please note: No grants for electrical items, cookers, fridges, student fees or equipment, repayment of debt of any type, holidays anywhere except in special circumstances, e.g. where a holiday is arranged by a recognised charity.

How to apply?

Individuals cannot apply directly and a professional in a local authority, health board or voluntary sector organisation should apply on the individual's behalf. Professionals can apply on the Edinburgh and Lothian Trust Fund website

The trustees usually make a decision within 4 weeks.
