Energy Projects Plus Wirral Fuel Debt Advice Service

Wirral residents are invited to apply to the Energy Projects Plus Wirral Fuel Debt Advice Service if they are in arrears to their gas or electricity supplier and are unable to pay off the debt. Also available is help with water debt, replacement boilers and funeral arrears.

Who is eligible?

Wirral residents who are in arrears to their gas, electricity or water supplier and are unable to pay off the debt, or need white goods or funeral debt help, due to financial hardship and health or social need.

The service is free and you don't have to be a British Gas customer to apply. 

How to apply?

Individuals can apply directly or organisations can apply on their behalf. Applications considered all year round. Call or email the charity to find out if you are eligible.

Awards are capped at £500 for funeral arrears, £3000 for awards obtained from BGET and £5000 for awards given by EDF

Other information

The charity also provides energy efficiency advice and grants.

We have a free and impartial advice line advising on domestic energy efficiency and renewable energy as well as information on grants and discounts available to residents to help make their homes more energy efficient. This advice line is available to residents of Merseyside. For more information call 0800 043 0151

We also offer energy efficiency home visits as part of some projects we deliver, these include health related schemes such as Health Through Warmth and SEARCH as well as visits as part of the Wirral Healthy Homes Scheme.
