Gardner’s Trust for the Blind

Grants for people who are registered blind or partially sighted and live in the UK. All applicants must be registered blind or partially sighted.

Applications are considered on a case by case basis but grants are usually given to help with tuition or course fees, computer equipment and household items, such as white goods.

Who is eligible?

Registered blind or partially sighted people who live in the UK. To be able to apply, you should be certified blind or partially sighted.

The Trust can't give grants to pay off debt. 

How to apply?

The Trust considers applications in March, June, September and December. The deadline for applications is the last month of February, May, August and November.

You can apply directly or a third party can apply on your behalf. 

Your application should include:

  • written support from a third party, such as a GP or social services
  • proof of certificate of visual impairment
  • a quote of the item you need the grant for
