Greggs Foundation Hardship Grant

Please note: We can only accept applications from recognised social organisations such as charities, housing associations and social services acting on behalf of a family or individual in need.

Grants for essential items for people in need who live in the north east of England. Priority is given to families and the most financially excluded people. Grants of up to £150 can be offered through recognised social organisations including charities, social companies, social services, schools and health services.

Grants are used to purchase items such as:

  • a cooker
  • washing machine
  • fridge freezer
  • flooring
  • baby equipment
  • clothing
  • and bed and bedding.

Who is eligible?

Families in financial need who live in North-East England, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, Durham and Teesside.

What we can't help with

  • repayment of loans
  • bankruptcy
  • petition fees
  • holidays
  • funeral expenses
  • medical equipment
  • or computer equipment.

How to apply?

Individuals should not apply directly. Instead, an organisation, such as a charity, housing association, Citizens Advice or social services should apply on an individual's or family's behalf. Applications are assessed weekly and you can expect a response within two weeks of your application.
