  • emergency grants

Please note: In ALL instances, if an applicant is experiencing financial problems, they must seek someone in a professional capacity (social worker, Citizens Advice Bureau, local authority or charity etc.) to act on their behalf and submit the application. The charity does not accept self referrals.

How to apply?

Only calls from someone in a professional capacity, such as a social worker, Citizens Advice Bureau, local authority or charity case worker, will be accepted. The charity does not accept self referrals. We advise against using a GP/Consultant or surgery to act as the applicant’s representative due to constraints with time.

The office is open between 10am – 5pm and on Monday – Friday. The charity does not use application forms. All applications should be contained in a letter.

Your organisation should also have the facilities in place to administer any grants approved for an award. In your application letter, the charity needs to know the full name, date of birth, family makeup, (including age), full background to the client, income and expenditure, what a grant will be used for, the exact cost of the item (for household items, please source via Argos website and include the 7 digit product code number), an indication of other charities approached and how much money has been raised to date. In the case of an application for equipment, adaptations etc., the charity needs copies of estimates. Where appropriate, it would be useful to have a supporting reference from a GP/Consultant. Applications being put forward must be printed on your business letter head, include the date of submission, full name of the representative submitting the application, your profession, full address of the organisation, telephone number, email contact details and registered charity details (if applicable). If your correspondence address is different to that which is shown on your business letterhead, please make sure this is also included after your signature.
