Bursaries are available to students currently studying at a Further education college or sixth form college and applying to enter university from September 2018. Unfortunately, if you are already on or have undertaken a higher education course you are not eligible to apply. Please see "Who is eligible" for more information on how to apply.

Who is eligible?

You may be eligible if you are in the final year at a publicly-funded further education institution and you are aiming to start a first-time programme of  higher education in the autumn of the year in which you are applying at a UK higher education institution. Students taking a ‘gap’ year will be considered. You must also be must be in financial need.

Unfortunately you cannot apply if you:

  • Are already on a higher education course
  • Are seeking funding for a postgraduate course
  • Have already received an HKF award
  • Have previously undertaken a higher education course
  • Are studying or intend to complete their higher education course at an international institution.
