Hope for the Young Education Fund

We aim to support young refugees and asylum seekers complete their education. We do this by providing grants to those who have no access to government funds, or to those who are facing extreme financial hardship.

We provide grants for:

  • Tuition fees
  • Exam fees
  • Transport costs
  • Living allowances

Who is eligible?

We offer help to young people:

  • Up to the age of 30
  • Who are in, or would like to access school, college or university
  • Up to their first university degree
  • Who are either not eligible for a student loan or cannot continue accessing or continuing their education without financial assistance

What we can’t help with

  • Postgraduate degrees
  • International students
  • Private education
  • Those who have exhausted their appeals and are unlikely to remain in the UK to complete their education

How to apply?

We need a referral from education or welfare organisations.  Only in exceptional circumstances, will we consider a self-referral. 

To apply, download the referral form on the Hope for the Young website and send the completed form by email.

Please note that the organisation needs proof of your immigration status, such as a Home Office document or a letter from your solicitor.

Generally your referral will be processed within six weeks.
