John Edmonds’ Charity

The Charity awards bursaries to assist people under the age of 25 who are preparing for or are training to enter a profession or trade. Applicants must also meet one of the following criteria:

  • have been born or live in the town of Cirencester or in its immediate neighbourhood
  • have at least one parent who was born in the town of Cirencester
  • Be a student (or a former student) of Powell’s School, Cirencester Kingshill or Deer Park Schools.

Grants are given to help with the costs of equipment and outfits or by paying fees, travelling or maintenance expenses.

Who is eligible?

Young people under the age of 25 who were born or live in Cirencester and the immediate neighbourhood, or whose parents were born there. The Charity also considers applications from students and former students of Powell’s School, Cirencester Kingshill or Deer Park Schools.

Priority is given to applicants:

  • who are likely to improve their employment prospects while training
  • who are taking practical courses
  • who are preparing to go into a career that will be useful to the community
