Grants for people in need who are working or who have worked in the licensed drinks industry/ pub trade (pubs, bars or breweries) for five years or more. This can include spouses/partners and dependent children.

The charity can also provide advice and guidance for people who work or have worked in bars, pubs and breweries for any period of time, whether it is 3 months or 30 years. We have a free helpline that runs 24/7, 365 days per year.

Who is eligible?

To qualify for a grant, people need to be working or have worked in the Licensed Trade/Pub Industry for five years or more in the United Kingdom.

We are not able to provide financial support for residential fees, university grants, or for school fees other than our own school LVS Ascot.

How to apply?

To apply or make an enquiry, please phone our helpline on 0808 8010550 24/7, 7 days per week. Applications can be submitted either directly by the individual or through a third party organisation including; Citizens Advice, social services, or other support organisations. We also have an application form on our website for third parties to complete. The charity considers applications once a month.

We would need proof of employment, personal details, personal history and full financial circumstances. A trained volunteer may visit the applicant to help complete the application.

 

Other information

The charity also operates three schools. LVS Ascot is an all-ability, independent day and boarding school for boys and girls aged from 4 to 18 years based in Ascot, Berkshire. LVS Ascot offers bursaries to students whose parents have worked in the licensed drinks industry. Two other schools, based in Hassocks and Oxford, provide a unique, positive education for young people with a diagnosis on the autism spectrum. Bursaries are not available for these schools. Licensed Trade Charity also offers a telephone befriending service for people who would benefit from a regular, friendly phone call.
