Lionheart (The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Benevolent Fund)

Lionheart provides grants for short term needs to members and past members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and their families. 

They consider applications that ask for;

  • general living expenses
  • essential items eg. fridge, cooker etc.
  • In some circumstances we can support those with caring responsibilities
  • Unique one-off or recurring expenses 

Lionheart is able to help some individuals and families in certain financial circumstances with a grant for up to two years.

Who is eligible?

The fund considers applications from members and former members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and their dependents, living in UK or overseas. 

Criteria includes but is not limited to the following categories: 

  • Unemployed, on benefits or recently made redundant
  • With long or short term illness or a disability
  • Recently bereaved
  • Financial difficulties following separation/divorce

Applications are welcome from people in the UK and those living overseas.

Applications are considered quarterly, although urgent cases can be considered between meetings.

Lionheart also offer a myriad of non-financial support to their beneficiaries including; a Back to Work Scheme (inc. CV help, interview prep), Free Counselling, Money Management Advice, Legal Helpline, LGBT Support, Wellbeing Workshops. A helpline is operated on 0845 603 9057.
