Mobility Trust

The trust provides powered wheelchairs or scooters for people who are unable to obtain such equipment through statutory sources or afford it themselves. If someone is unable to walk at all and requires a powered wheelchair, they should apply to their local NHS Wheelchair Service before making an application to the trust. No cash grants are given.

Who is eligible?

People with disabilities who need powered wheelchairs or scooters and are unable to obtain such equipment through statutory sources or afford it themselves. You must also need somewhere to store and charge the wheelchair. If someone is unable to walk at all and requires a powered wheelchair, they should apply to their local NHS Wheelchair Service before making an application to the trust.

How to apply?

Call or write to the charity explaining why you need this equipment, giving details of any disabilities you have and the cause of them. In the letter you should also say if you are receiving Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and if you have space to store and charge the wheelchair.
