Mynshull’s Educational Foundation

Grants for children and young people aged aged 25 and under who need help to pay for items such as books, equipment and uniforms to start or continue work, training, apprenticeships or education. Applicants must live in the City of Manchester or nearby.

The fund will not cover course fees or give grants to postgraduate students.

Who is eligible?

Children and young people aged 25 and under who live in the City of Manchester and nearby who need help paying for items such as books, equipment and uniforms for education or apprenticeships.

The fund will not cover course fees or give grants to postgraduate students.

How to apply?

Applications must be made by an intermediary, such as a social worker, on behalf of the individual. Contact the Gaddum Centre for an application form.

The Gaddum Centre provides other support, such as:

  • Advocacy support
  • Welfare Benefits and Money Advice, including benefit checks, applying for benefits, challenging benefit decisions, and helping people to manage their debts
  • A befriending service for people aged 60 or over who live in Manchester
  • Bereavement support for children and young people
  • Bereavement support for adults and families who have a child with a life limiting or life threatening illness
  • Support for carers
