Who is eligible?

The Fund can benefit households in Leicester, Leicestershire or Rutland where there are children and young people who are deprived, neglected or in need of care.

How to apply?

Unfortunately, we cannot except applications made directly by an individual.

Applications should be made by a third party professional (e.g. support worker) on behalf of the individual or household where there are vulnerable child(ren)/young people.  All applications to Nicholson Memorial Fund should be made via our host organisation, Charity Link, using their standard application form, or by applying online, here:

Other information

Grants are typically awarded for essential items such as children's beds or clothing, or a washing machine for households with young children, for example. 

Young people (aged under 25) who are care leavers, estranged from their families or otherwise living independently can also apply for help with household items, appliances and furniture etc.
