Perennial delivers advice and information services to individuals working in or retired from horticulture and their families. From gardeners to greenkeepers, foresters to landscape designers, if you work with plants, trees, turf or help look after our green spaces Perennial can offer you support.

At Perennial we can support people through many of life’s challenges.  Our friendly and experienced team are here to help you and your family with the things that we can all face from time to time.  Where people have worries about ill health, bereavement, housing, benefit, employment issues or paying their bills, we are happy to help with any issue you may be facing, however complicated.

If you’re finding it difficult to manage financially because of an unexpected event our team can assess what financial support may be available to you and help you understand the options available to you. 

Our Casework Service can:

  • Give you access to free specialist legal advice.
  • Help you maximise your income, providing advice and information on statutory and voluntary support for you and your family.
  • Support you through the practical stages of bereavement.
  • Help support you to access health and social care services and understand the practical support available to people due to illness or disability.
  • Offer advice and information on training and development and access to a work coach to help you navigate the labour market.
  • Advise you on housing issues.

The Casework Service are members of the National Association of Welfare Rights Advisers (NAWRA). The Casework and Debt Advice Service are Members of Advice UK

Our Debt Advice Service can:

  • Give you free advice on how to manage a range of debt including mortgage, rent, fuel, council tax, credit cards, loan, car finance and fines.
  • Advise you on options, speak to people you owe on your behalf and look after formal insolvency solutions such as bankruptcy (if this is what you decide is right for you).
  • Help you with budgeting towards a debt-free future.

The Debt Advice Team are all accredited members of the Institute of Money Advisers (England): or Approved Money Advisers (Scotland).

Perennial provides back-to-school support for hard-it families

Despite careful budgeting, many families working in horticulture are finding it difficult to meet the everyday costs of raising a family. The team at Perennial can help families access government support and financial assistance, where at least one parent or carer works in horticulture.

Who is eligible?

We support anyone who is currently working in horticulture. We also support those whose last job was in horticulture, but left due to redundancy, ill health or caring responsibilities.  To receive our services, you will need to provide proof of your paid work in a horticultural industry.

Our teams can help you understand the financial support that may be available to you and can be accessed through our helpline. We also provide specialist support programmes to meet the particular needs of people working in horticulture and their families. You can find out more at
