Plymouth Public Dispensary

Grants for people in need who live in the Plymouth City Council area and are sick, convalescing, have disabilities or infirmities. Grants aim to relieve suffering and/or assist recovery.

Please note: we do not give grants for: debt relief, debt relief orders (DROs) or bankruptcy fees. We also do not give cash or non-specific financial support.

An application has to be made by a professional working with the person needing help.

Who is eligible?

People who are permanent residents of the Plymouth City Council area who are both in financial need and ill/disabled.

How to apply?

Please note: Members of the public cannot make the application themselves. Applications must be made by professionally qualified staff from the NHS, social workers, care agencies and charities.

To apply for financial support on behalf of a Plymouth resident, please contact our Clerk and request an application form via email: admin@ppdtrust.co.uk or telephone: 01752 782758.

We take a minimum of one week and a maximum of three months to process grant applications, depending on the nature of the request etc. We reply to all applicants, even if we cannot help.  The Trustees meet five times a year to consider applications; PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU CONTACT US TO CHECK THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS.
