Police Dependants’ Trust

The Police Dependants' Trust provides one-off grants ranging from £100 upwards to dependants of any serving, retired or former police officer, if the family are on a low income, towards educational needs including such items as sports or computer equipment.  

Police officers and former police officers who have been injured on duty and are on a low income can also apply for financial support to carry on their education and or retrain.

Who is eligible?

  • Dependants* of police officers, or former police officers, who die, or have died, as a result of an injury received in the execution of duty;
  • Police officers, or former police officers, who are, or have been incapacitated as a result of an injury received in the execution of duty; and
  • Dependants* of police officers, or former police officers, who are, or have been incapacitated as a result of an injury received in the execution of duty.

*Dependents includes spouses, partners and children, but may also include elderly parents and other relatives, and foster/adoptive/step children for example.
