Professionals Aid Council

Grants for people who have a degree level qualification or the equivalent level qualification and need financial assistance. You may also be able to apply if your spouse/ partner or parent has a degree level qualification.

The organisation also helps people who have attended a private, public or grammar school and are struggling with money. Contact the Professionals Aid Council for more information.

The organisation gives one-off and recurrent grants to help with living expenses and items such as:

  • Clothing
  • Living expenses
  • Essential household furniture such as white goods
  • Essential repairs to your home that relate to safety, security or living independently
  • a contribution towards care home fees or respite care

Who is eligible?

You may be eligible for financial help if you, your spouse/ partner or parent is:

  • Have a degree level qualification or the equivalent level qualification (level 6 on the education framework)
  • Have been 
  • Resident in the UK
  • Are aged 18 or over
  • Have less than £6,000 in savings if you are under pension credit age or £10,000 in savings if you are over pension credit age
  • Have claimed, or are in the process of claiming, all benefits to which you are entitled

If you are applying for funding for to help with educational or qualification costs

  • You also need to be on the course for at least a term before you can apply 

How to apply?

Please complete the initial enquiry form on the Professional Aid Council's website.

Please note: Professionals Aid Council is having a technical issue with their online enquiry form. If you are unable to complete it, you can also download the enquiry form from the Professional Aid Council's website and send the completed form by post or email.

If you are eligible, they will then send you an application form. You will find out if you will receive a grant in 8 - 12 weeks.

If you are applying for funding for to help with educational or qualification costs

  • You also need to include a reference from your academic tutor or leader
