At RNIB, the UK's leading charity helping people with sight loss, we offer small grants to people who are registered blind or partially sighted and on means-tested benefits.

The items we offer grants for include certain computer software, voice recorders, portable video magnifiers, talking kitchen and labelling equipment, a talking mobile phone, accessible smartphone, accessible tablet, DAISY players, USB readers and e-readers.

Who is eligible?

Applicants must be resident in the UK, registered as blind or partially sighted, on a means-tested benefit that is not a tax credit, have savings of less than £6,000, not have had a grant from us in the last three years and have been refused funding from their local authority.

What we may be able to help with

The items we offer grants for include certain computer software, voice recorders, portable video magnifiers, talking kitchen and labelling equipment, a talking mobile phone, accessible smartphone, accessible tablet, DAISY players, USB readers and e-readers.

What we can't help with

We cannot help towards the cost of white goods, such as fridges, freezers, washing machines and ovens.

We are not able to give grants for any other type of item or for items you need for your job. We are also not able to help towards items which you have already bought.
