ROI Queens' Institute of District Nursing in Ireland

The Queen's Institute of District Nursing in Ireland provides funding for:

  • Services for palliative home care to the terminally ill

  • Assistance for the sick and socially disadvantaged in their own homes

  • Carers for respite care.

The Institute funds are intended to help where there is either undue delay in obtaining the required assistance, or where funds are not available from the statutory authorities.

Grants are awarded according to need.

Please note: The applicant must have first sought help from Health Board or Relevant Authority.

People who are terminally ill; sick and disadvantaged; and carers living in the Republic of Ireland.

How to apply?

Individuals and organisations may apply for funding at any time throughout the year by submitting a completed application form, which is available, along with more information about the grants, on the Queen's Institute of District Nursing in Ireland website.

Other information

The charity also provides funding for the  training of nurses and care workers for the provision of palliative home care for the terminally ill.
