Royal Society for the Support of Women of Scotland

Annual charitable grants for single women over 50 years of age who experience financial hardship and have been living in Scotland for at least two years.

The Society has received an increase in applications, so it will prioritise applications from people on the lowest incomes. Please only apply if you have an annual income of £10,000 or less.

Who is eligible?

The Society considers applications from women who are:

  • Aged 50 years or over; who have been living in Scotland for at least two years
  • Unmarried, widowed, divorced or formally separated
  • Able to show evidence of personal achievement in their life such as self support; consideration of others; voluntary or community work, or looking after family members who required care
  • Have an annual “Qualifying Income” from all sources, after deduction of tax, housing costs and any care costs, of less than £10,000.

How to apply?

Individuals can apply directly, or someone else can apply on their behalf. Contact the society to request an application form by post. Applications are considered at quarterly meetings. Grants are awarded at the discretion of trustees.
