Royal Television Society

A small number of bursaries are available to students who do not have a degree or a higher education qualification who are considering a career in television. This includes students interested in the technical side of the television industry.

Bursaries are available to first year students as well as students who are applying to University.

We are open for applications from 8 March to 30 June this year.

Who is eligible?

You must:

  • be either a full-time prospective undergraduate starting in Autumn 2019, or in your first year of university and you started in 2018
  • be studying either Television Production, Journalism or a related course for the Television Production Bursary or Computer Science, Engineering, EEE, Maths, or Physics
  • be a UK Home Student
  • not already have a degree or other higher education qualification
  • be from a low income household 

You must have accepted an offer as your ‘firm choice’ to study one of the subjects listed above.

Please do not apply if you are not a Home Student.

How to apply?

Applications are considered once a year. We are open for applications from 8 March to 30 June this year.

You can apply online on the Royal Television Society website. Please make sure you read the guidelines for each type of bursary before you apply.

The Royal Television Society also aim to set up mentoring or placement opportunities with one of our many industry members.
