Sailors’ Orphan Society of Scotland

Grants for the children of seafarers who need financial assistance. This might be because they are disadvantaged in some way, or one of their parents might have a disability or have passed away.

The organisation gives a monthly grant of £80 or less to each child. It also gives 2 additional payments in July and December of each year. These grants are usually paid directly to the family.

To be able to apply, the child must be under 16 or if over 16 in full time education. In certain circumstances, at the discretion of the directors, additional one-off grants may be paid.
