ScotsCare (Welfare Grants)

Grants to help Scots, their widows and children, who are in need and have lived within a 35 mile radius of Charing Cross in London for at least two years.

Grants may be given for household items such as white goods, children's clothing or family respite holidays.

Who is eligible?

Scottish people, and their children and widows, who are in need, hardship or distress and live within a 35-mile radius of Charing Cross. Beneficiaries are usually in receipt of state benefits.

How to apply?

Contact ScotsCare for an application form. The application should include copies of the birth/wedding certificates and/or passport. An applicant is then assigned a case worker for assessment.

The organisation runs a free, dedicated helpline: 0800 652 2989.

The organisation also has a training service which helps CV writing, making applications and interview skills to Scottish people living within the area.

The charity has 84 flats, offering safe, supported living for over 55’s or over 50’s living with a disability.
