Shell Pensioners Benevolent Fund

The Shell Pensioners Benevolent Fund helps Shell pensioners in need who have worked for Shell in the UK by giving one-off grants and interest-free loans.

Grants are given where the pensioner cannot afford to pay for items such as:

  • Stair lifts, chairs, wheelchairs

  • Bathroom adaptations

  • Boilers

  • Respite care

  • Urgent house repairs,

  • Hearing aids and glasses.

In addition, Christmas grants are given to help with additional costs during winter.

Who is eligible?

Members of the Shell Pensioners Association who are paid a pension from Shell companies in the UK.

What we don't give grants for

  • Recurring costs

How to apply?

Applications can be made directly by the individual or a family member.  They should be made:

  • By phoning a helpline 0345 850894 (manned Mondays to Fridays)

  • Directly by phone, email or letter to the Secretary/Treasurer.

The Pensioner Programme Officer will help the pensioner to produce a document which they will submit on the applicant's behalf.

Application process

Applications are looked at every three months from February.

Grants are given directly to individuals or preferably direct to the supplier.

The charity replies to all applicants, whether or not they can help.
