Shropshire Cerebral Palsy Society

Shropshire Cerebral Palsy Society gives welfare grants for children and adults who have cerebral palsy and live in Shropshire or Telford and Wrekin.

We provide grants for shoes, holidays, washing machines and tumble driers, therapies and specialist equipment, such as wheelchairs, standing frames, car seats etc.

Last updated on 2 January 2020

Who is eligible?

Children and adults who have cerebral palsy and live in Shropshire or Telford and Wrekin.

For specialist equipment such as wheelchairs, standing frames, car seats etc, we require supporting information from a professional such as an Occupational Therapist to determine that the equipment is suitable for the individual.

What we can't help with

We do not fund other white goods apart from washing machines or tumble driers, so for example we do not fund fridges or cookers. We do not give any funding in retrospect.

How to apply?

Download an application from the website: https://www.shropshirecerebralpalsysociety.co.uk/get-involved

If you do not have access to a printer and would like us to send you a grant form please let us know.

Applications should be received in a letter submitted by the individual or a third party (e.g. occupational therapist, physiotherapist, social worker). We require that applicants demonstrate how the funding will specifically benefit the individual with cerebral palsy. Please note that if applicants are applying for the first time we need evidence that they have a diagnosis of cerebral palsy.

For grants over £250, a supporting letter from an occupational therapist, physiotherapist or social worker is needed.

Applications are considered monthly, although the trustees do not normally meet in December or August.
