Last updated on 22 November 2018

Who is eligible?

Serving and retired Police Officers, staff, special constables and volunteers who are or were members of Sussex Police Charitable Trust (formerly the Welfare Fund) at the point of retirement. We can also assist dependent family members of a Trust Member.

How to apply?

Individuals can apply directly. Call, email or write to the Trust.

Your case will be dealt with by a Trust Adviser who will work with you to address your problems. If it is thought appropriate, they will prepare an anonymous application to the Trust board for financial assistance. The Trust Adviser then presents your application at the monthly funding committee meetings. More urgent requests can be considered between the monthly meetings.

Other information

The Trust has a First Tier advice service. The Trust employs two Trust Advisers who offer advice, support and guidance to members in times of need, hardship or distress. The Trust also owns a bungalow in Christchurch, which is available to members in need of a recuperative break.
