The Artists’ General Benevolent Institution

Grants are available to professional fine artists who cannot work due to accident, illness or older age. Grants are also available to the dependents of deceased professional artists. 

Unfortunately, the AGBI is unable to assist in cases when an artist is unable to find a market for their work. The AGBI is unable to assist with legal fees, business difficulties or education grants for mature students.

Who is eligible?

You may be eligible if you are:

  • A professional fine artist who cannot work due to accident, illness or older age

  • A Dependent of a deceased professional fine artist

What we can't help with

Unfortunately, the AGBI does not give grants when an artist is unable to find a market for their work. The AGBI does not assist with legal fees, business difficulties or education grants for mature students.
