The Barnes Samaritan Charity

The purpose of the Barnes Samaritan Charity is to provide a regular income* (£45 per month) for people in financial need who are suffering from permanent or temporary illness, disease or disability. This is subject to the satisfactory completion of Income and Medical Forms supported by a ‘sponsor’, such as a doctor or social worker who can confirm the medical and financial circumstances.

Area of benefit

Counties of Lancashire and Greater Manchester; the District of Calderdale in the County of West Yorkshire; the District of Craven in the County of North Yorkshire; the Districts of Macclesfield and Warrington in the County of Cheshire; and the District of High Peak in the County of Derbyshire.

*Please note that the trustees review regular grants every 3 years. Grants can be restricted to one or 1 or 2 years with review.

One-off grants may also be made in addition to regular income payments. These are usually to assist in the purchase of specific items of equipment related to a disability.
