The Barnwood Trust

Grants for people who permanently live in the County of Gloucestershire and have a long term disability or a mental health problem that affects their quality of life.

We have two funding schemes for individuals:

The Wellbeing Fund provides grants for things that help with everyday living at home. This could be things like household appliances, a mobility scooter or something else that might be difficult to pay for yourself.

The Opportunities Award could be for training or equipment that may help towards a job, volunteering or setting up a new business. It can also be used to help with materials or equipment for an existing hobby.

Who is eligible?

Grants for people who live permanently in the County of Gloucestershire and have a long term disability or a mental health problem that affects their quality of life.

What we can't help with

Grants are not normally awarded for housing deposits or rent in advance, funeral costs, debts or arrears, private healthcare or medical equipment, or private education.

See the Barnwood Trust website for more information.

How to apply?

Applications are considered all year round. Download an application form from the Barnwood Trust website

Individuals can apply directly but applications should include a letter of support from a relevant Support Worker, Social Worker or other health professional. Please note that all applicants for the Wellbeing Fund will be visited at home by one of our volunteer Home Visitors.

When the charity makes a decision about an application, a letter is usually sent to the professional, such as the Support Worker, who supported the application.
