The Benevolent Society of the Licensed Trade of Scotland

Annual payments and one-off grants for employees - past and present - who have served a minimum of three years full time in the licensed trade in Scotland, who are in need.

Examples include:

  • Support in covering utility and household bills

  • The provision of home furnishings

  • Funding for injury rehabilitation equipment

  • The supply of mobility and transport solutions.

Who is eligible?

Anyone who has worked in any aspect of the licensed trade in Scotland - past and present - who has served a minimum of three years full time (these do not have to be consecutive) and is in financial need.

How to apply?

On a form available from Chris Gardner or to download from the Benevolent Society of the Licensed Trade of Scotland.

Help with the application form can be obtained from volunteer visitors.

Applications can be made directly by the individual or intermediary.

Other information

The Ben offers emotional and social support as well as financial assistance.  It also owns the BEN Pitlochry Estate, consisting of 18 bungalows, which provides accommodation for current and retired members of the industry as well as offering respite breaks for carers.
