The Catharine House Trust

The Catharine House Trust considers applications for financial assistance on behalf of those who are older, in ill health or are disabled.

Applications must be accompanied by written support from a professional person, e.g. GP or social worker.

Grants are normally under £300/£400. Examples of the type of support that Catharine House Trust grants might help with include:

  • Medical or exercise equipment and treatment  
  • Aids to living - e.g. bath hoists, safety items, walkers, wheelchairs, special beds or chairs etc.
  • Household items - if needed for maintaining health e.g. refrigerator, cooker, washer/dryer, sterilizer
  • Relevant courses of instruction.

Who is eligible?

People who have problems caused by sickness, disability or old age and/or their carer, guardian, social worker etc.

What we can't help with

We can't give grants for home adaptations or for holidays. We can't give grants for mobility aids such as scooters without a physiotherapist's recommendation.

How to apply?

Individuals can apply directly, but applications must be include written support from a professional person, e.g. GP or social worker. Contact the Trust to request an application form via email or post.

Applications are considered all year round.
