The Catherine Mackichan Trust

The Trust was established in the memory of the late Catherine Mackichan and aims to:

1. Support research into the history and archaeology of Scotland and the Border counties of the North of England

2. Promote awareness and understanding in these fields.

Applications will be considered that request financial support to meet specific costs of research. Examples might include the costs of travel for site visits, excavations, access to specialist services such as radiocarbon dating, and documentation/publication.

Applicants might include postgraduate students, individuals without formal attachment to any institute of education, local history societies, amateur historians or school groups.

Grants usually have a value of between £200 and £500 but greater sums may be available.
