The Eliza Haldane Wylie Fund

The Eliza Haldane Wylie Fund helps gentlefolk of the middle-class who are in distressed circumstances or need support with the costs an illness, emergency, or age.

The Fund can also help people who are related to, or have a connection with, Eliza Haldane Wylie or a member of her family.

Who is eligible?

The Eliza Haldane Wylie Fund helps people living in Scotland or England, who are:

  • Related or in any way associated with Eliza Haldane Wylie or member of her family, or

  • Gentlefolk of the middle-class who are in distressed circumstances or need help because of an illness, emergency or age. 

Grants are given directly to the individual in need.

What the charity doesn't fund

The Eliza Haldane Wylie Fund doesn't give grants for student living expenses, tuition fees or private school fees.

How to apply?

Applications should be made in writing to the contact address given below, giving the reason for the application and written evidence of circumstances. Please do not phone the fund. 

Applications can be made directly by the person in need. However a supporting letter/statement from a professional is required, giving independent evidence of situation and need.

Grants process

Requests for help are looked at as soon as an enquiry is received.

The charity replies to all applicants, whether or not it can help.
