The G E Gee Trust

This fund is only open to applications from intermediaries or support workers

The G E Gee Trust, established in 1931, gives grants to people living in the city of Birmingham, who are in financial need, hardship or distress.

Grants are given for household necessities, such as cookers, fridges, beds, carpets, etc.

Who is eligible?

Residents of the city of Birmingham who are in financial need, hardship or distress.

How to apply?


Grants are given via an intermediary organisation only. 

Applications should be made in writing by the intermediary organisation in writing by letter or email.Intermediary organisations are requested not to give out the G E Gee Trust  contact details and are requested to submit applications themselves on behalf of individuals.

With each application, the charity needs the following information:

  • Details of the individual's income and expenditure
  • The items for which the individual is seeking a grant for and evidence of cost (for example a print out from the supplier's website or catalogue)
  • A brief explanation about why the person needs the help of the trust.


Requests are considered twice a year at trustee meetings in January and July.

Grant applications are processed within a month following the trustee meeting in January or July.

The charity replies to all applicants.
