The Girls’ Welfare Fund

Grants for girls and young women, usually those aged between 15 and 25 years, who were born in Merseyside. 

The aim is to help them gain independence and qualifications. Grants might be given to help with the cost of sports, arts or vocational education. 

The Fund will not respond to requests from people who were not born in Merseyside.

Who is eligible?

Girls and young women, usually those aged between 15 and 25 years, who were born in Merseyside. 

The Fund prefers to give grants for vocational or further education courses rather than other academic courses.

How to apply?

Please write to or email the Fund. Individuals can apply directly, or a professional such as a social worker, Citizens Advice, or college can apply on someone's behalf.

The Trustees consider applications quarterly; at the start of March, June, September and December.

Applications should include full information about the college, course and particular circumstances.

Please note: if you were born outside of Merseyside the charity will not respond to your request.

The charity does not give funding to other charities.
