The Handsworth Charity

Small grants are given to people who live in the Ancient Parish of Handsworth in Birmingham and are in need. Grants of no more than £500 may be made to help with essential household items such as bedding, carpets, cookers, fridges, small property repairs.

People who live in the Ancient Parish of Handsworth in Birmingham and are in need.

How to apply?

Please note: individuals should not apply directly. A referral agency, such as social services or Birmingham Asian Resource Centre, should apply on an individual's behalf.

The Handsworth Charity's website and email is unavailable until early September. The Charity asks that the professional sends the application by post until the website is running again.

Trustees meet three times a year, usually in mid March, mid July and mid November, to consider applications. The deadline for receiving applications is one month before the meeting. The trustees will contact the applicant about a week after the meeting to tell them whether they have been successful or not.

Successful applicants will need to provide receipts for purchases of goods they make with the grant.
