The Harris Charity

The Harris Charity gives grants to young people under the age of 25 who live in Lancashire and need financial assistance. Priority is given to people who live in Preston District.

The Charity might give grants to help:

  • Relieve need, hardship or distress
  • Provide financial assistance, outfits, clothing, tools, musical instruments, equipment or books to enable young people to start work
  • Support apprenticeships.

Who is eligible?

Young people under the age of 25 who live in Lancashire and need financial assistance. 

What we can't help with

  • Anything that should be paid by public funds
  • University tuition fees or student loans

How to apply?

You can complete an online application on The Harris Charity's website or download the form and send it by post. 

Please note that the email address on The Harris Charity's website does not work at the moment. If you have problems completing the online application form, please phone the charity. They might be able to send you a paper form in a pre-paid envelope by post.

Applications are considered twice a year, and the deadlines are:

  • 31st March, and you will find out if you are successful in July
  • 30th September, and you will find out the outcome in September
