The John and Margaret Wootton Charitable Trust

This fund is only open to applications from intermediaries or support workers

The John and Margaret Wootton Charitable Trust was set up for the benefit of elderly residents in need who live in Greater Manchester, with a special interest in helping elderly people based in Newton-le-Willows, Earlestown and Haydock.

The Trust makes one-off grants for items necessary for everyday living, for example, new washing machines, cookers or other items to enable someone on a low income to live independently. For instance, in the past we have made a payment to a local charity to buy clothing vouchers for an individual with mental health issues who had lost a lot of weight through illness.

The grants we give would normally be for amounts between £200 - £2000. They are paid directly to the provider of the goods requested.

Please note: Our grants are not made retrospectively. Cheques will never be made payable to the individuals benefiting.
