The Maddock, Leicester & Burslem Educational Charity

Educational grants for students who are aged between 15 and 21 and have lived in (or whose parents have lived in) Stoke on Trent OR Newcastle under Lyme for at least seven years. Grants of between £200 and £1000 are available for students at university or undertaking social or physical training.

Who is eligible?

Students who are aged between 15 and 21 and have lived in (or whose parents have lived in) Stoke on Trent OR Newcastle under Lyme for at least seven years. Applicants should have achieved, or be expected to achieve, mostly grades A or A* at GCSE level. The charity will still consider applicants who are not expected to achieve mostly grades A - A* if the person has learning difficulties, special needs or is from a very underprivileged background. However, the applicant should be able to show that they have achieved more than what would normally be expected. We are unable to fund the following costs and items:

  • Regular travel costs
  • Living Expenses
  • Costs associated with running a motor vehicle
  • Normal everyday or routine expenditure
  • Purchase of new computers
  • Normal everyday clothing
  • Field Trips

How to apply?

You can download an application form from the website: http://staffsfoundation.org.uk/grants/grantsforindividuals/maddockleicesterburslemfund/ Individuals can apply directly, but they should provide a letter of support from their school, college of 6th Form. If an individual is looking for funding towards physical or social training, they should provide a letter of support from an employer. Individuals can apply at any time, but applications will only be considered in September of each year.
