The Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society

The MS Society gives grants to people with MS, for items or activities needed as a direct result of MS. We also give grants to carers of people with MS, to help with personal development or leisure activities.

We can consider one off Health & Wellbeing grants towards various items including: home adaptations, wheelchairs, scooters, specialist equipment, Motability advance payments and car adaptations.

We can consider requests for a contribution towards the cost of a holiday or respite break.

We can also consider bankruptcy or debt relief order fees, but we cannot help with the repayment of debts.

We cannot help with daily living costs or household bills, or long term costs like residential care, medical costs, legal fees, university fees, or servicing costs for equipment.

Grants cannot be awarded for Items that have already been ordered or purchased, or if there is statutory funding for the item.

A full list of items we may consider is on our website: https://www.mssociety.org.uk/apply-health-and-wellbeing-grant

Health & Wellbeing grants are available to people who live in the UK and have MS. If you have more than £16,000 in accessible household savings, we can’t offer you a grant. If you have more than £8,000 in savings we’ll ask you to pay something towards the cost of the request.

We cannot help with:

  • Long term costs like residential care, medical costs, legal fees, university fees, or servicing costs for equipment.

Grants cannot be awarded for Items that have already been ordered or purchased, or if there is statutory funding for the item.

Carers grants are available to people of all ages who live in the UK and are a carer for someone with MS. We can’t consider carers grants for adult carers (aged 25 and over) with over £23,000 in accessible household savings.
